Rusland Horizons is a group of projects which has helped to maintain and improve the landscape in an area centred on the Rusland Valley in South Lakeland. Projects have focused on traditional skills, woodland management, wildlife, local history, archaeology, access to the countryside and engagement with local people.
Designworks was selected to produce all the print material for the Rusland Horizons project which included posters, banners, adverts, a suite of eight trail leaflets and the end of project booklet. The 84 page booklet is a celebration of the project’s achievements which includes School’s programme of tree and hay meadow planting and Full Cycle – a year long woodland programme promoting better health and well-being for a group of adults from Ulverston.
The booklet utilises in-house illustrations and uses a scrapbook design style. The illustrations and design approach reflect the content of the booklet which is all about heritage, landscape and rural communities.
