Designworks is proud to have created a new logo and website for The Lake District Holocaust Project (LDHP), working closely with Trevor Avery BEM and Another Space, a registered education charity, to bring the organisation’s purpose to life with a distinct brand.
The new identity centres on a deer and its reflection—imagery chosen for its strong symbolism. In both Israeli and Jewish tradition, the deer represents beauty, resilience and survival. In the Lake District, deer are also a familiar and poignant presence in the landscape that became a sanctuary for Holocaust survivors.
The logo’s concept carries deeper meaning: the deer faces forward, while its reflection looks back. This visual metaphor represents the heart of LDHP’s mission—honouring and reflecting on the past, while fostering hope and awareness for the future.
The accompanying website continues the theme, with a clean, modern design that puts storytelling at the forefront. It offers clear navigation, improved accessibility. Over time the site’s structure will allow the project’s archive and events programme to grow and reach more people.
We’re honoured to support the work of LDHP and to contribute to preserving this vital part of history. Visit the new website at ldhp.org.uk.
