Designworks worked with Cumbria Police to design the road signage which is part of UK-wide police initiative called Operation Close Pass. 200 signs were installed around the county to remind drivers to allow a safe passing distance of 1.5 metres when overtaking a cyclist.
Other police forces, that have adopted Operation Close Pass, have reported a 20% reduction in the number of cyclists seriously injured or killed on their roads over a 12 month period.
