“One Cumbria” is one of the 81 newly designated teaching school hubs in England. West Lakes Multi Academy Trust was selected to become the teaching school hub for Cumbria. Under its “One Cumbria” vision, teachers across the country will benefit from vital developmental support and expert advice, allowing them to improve a broad range of vital teaching skills, under plans announced by the Department for Education.
Designworks worked with West Lakes Multi Academy Trust to develop a WordPress website and create an identity. The One Cumbria logo combines the two initial letters, O and C, into a single logomark. The two letters are connected, so there is a wholeness and unity to the mark. The logo features two straplines – ‘Teaching School Hub’ and ‘Changing Lives’. The strapline can be interchanged, depending on the audience. The typeface is Gill Sans, a classic British font that has a rich history of users including Penguin Books, Ordnance Survey and London Transport.
