Colourful Coast

Project included: branding guidelines, signage, marketing material and website

The branding and associated material is to promote the Whitehaven to St Bees area on the west coast of Cumbria. It is the only area of heritage coast in north-west England and offers a combination of natural and industrial interest. The brand name we created incorporates several key themes from the brief: heritage, nature and instilling local pride. Colourful refers to the history of the coast as well as the visual aspect with the wide variety of flora and fauna. The heritage status reflects the importance of the coastline to the local and the wider community, so it’s ‘our’ coast, which is highlighted in the word ‘Colourful’.
