Designworks created the identity and decals for Clutterbuck Cycles. The client wanted to reflect the different eras in bicycle building and the use of steel and carbon fibre which are traditional and modern materials. We brought the eras of pre-war and 21st century together by using a rounded, contemporary font and the Clutterbuck family coat of arms.

Designworks worked with Cumbria Tourism to produce a guide showcasing the county’s offering to food and drink tourists.

The guide follows the tried and tested format of the official attractions guide, which Designworks also produced. It features over 60 advertisers giving the visitor a good cross section of quality food businesses across the county. From dog friendly pubs, quality cafes to beautiful dining in some of the UK’s best restaurants this is the ultimate food guide for the Cumbrian visitor. 100,000 copies are being distributed across the county in high footfall tourists sites, hotels, B&Bs, bus and railway stations and key route motorway service stations.

The Lakeside and Haverthwaite Railway is a heritage railway located in the scenic Leven Valley at the southern end of Windermere.

The new website is a bespoke WordPress Content Managed site. It’s built using Responsive Web Design so it resizes according to screen size. The number of visits to the site from mobile devices is increasing so the client wanted to offer a user-friendly site for all types of screen.

The design reflects the station building and the heritage of the railway line. Old pieces of signage are used for the navigation, the cream and black brick work provides a background and the station clock displays the train services.

The layout uses two side columns. General information is featured in the left-hand column and specific ‘View tickets’, ‘View timetable’ and ‘What’s on’ are in the right-hand column. This enables users to find the relevant information in a specific area on the page.

Livingstons solicitors are a long established, local firm serving the South Lakes and Furness area. Our working relationship with Livingstons is also long established and spans over 20 years. In 1995 Designworks created Livingstons’ identity with the strapline ‘A quality service through the red door’. Since 1995 technology has developed and although business is still coming through the ‘red door’ there is an increasing amount of business coming through the website.

Livingstons wanted to invest in a future proofed site that’s easy to update, is well designed, and user-friendly. We designed and built a WordPress website that uses Responsive Web Design.  Responsive Website Design responds to the change in screen size by adjusting the layout of the page so it’s easy to read and navigate on all mobile devices. The benefit of responsive design over a separate mobile site is that you only have one site to maintain, host and optimise. The clean, contemporary design complements the printed guides and provides easy navigation within the site.
