Cumbria Tourism is launching a brand new, exciting initiative exclusively for Cumbrian residents. MyCumbria promotes Cumbria’s very best products and services directly to the people who live here, perhaps a forgotten but undoubtedly valuable market. We worked closely with the client to create the brand for the campaign. The logo needed to work with Cumbria Tourism’s current branding, using the CT typeface and ‘C’ device.

The Flower Bank has a new, trade only E-commerce website. We worked closely with the client to create a good, effective website design, in order to bring traffic in to a secure and simple checkout. With such an increase in purchasing over the internet, it has never been a more important time to effectively sell online. We built the site using WordPress, an effective content management system that the client can fully control and maintain their shop without the use of advanced computer skills or experience. The site has only been live for a matter of days but has already experienced a high level of trade.

Electric Bicycle Network – WordPress Website

Project included: poster, leaflet, banner and sticker

The Electric Bike Network provides a fantastic, straight-forward way for visitors to leave their cars behind and truly experience the environment around them on an electric bike. The development of the website required an improved interface for the end user and also more control for the client. Our solution gave the client the ability, within WordPress, to add hire and charge points in Google Map. As well as appearing on Google Map the points can also be shown as a listing. The user can then select different types of point: hire, charge, food & drink or accommodation within the map or listing. This level of control and improved interface was a major part of the brief. Further developments to the site included a blog, Social Media and video.

CBS Blinds website

CBS Blinds have a new WordPress website. The site has been redesigned to make better use of their image library which contains a good selection of professionally taken photographs. Imagery is featured in the large header image and the image lightbox, which has the flexibility to show uncropped landscape and portrait images. WordPress gives CBS Blinds much more control over their site and now they’ll be able to add their own content including videos on blind installation.

Masquepony website

Masquepony is the UK’s first street arts camping festival. We collaborated with Steve Kerner (Curious Road) to create a WordPress website for the event. Steve’s illustrative approach to the branding and website provided great material for the team at Designworks and we’re really happy with the finished site. We’ve created a new WordPress site for Williamson Holmes. The site shows their range of quality fittings and furnishings. As well as beautiful imagery, the showroom floor plan provides potential buyers with a taste of what’s on offer.

New Year new website

We’ve kicked the New Year off in style with a new website.

The old site served us well but as screens have got wider and technology has advanced we felt it was time for a redesign. The new design makes full use of the wide screen and uses an alternative web page font to create an interesting and impactful typeface. The Home and Portfolio pages feature scrolling imagery which gives us the option of showing several examples of our work.

The new site is a bespoke design that has been built in WordPress – a user-friendly Content Management System. Although there are WordPress templates available, we create bespoke designs for all our WordPress sites. We believe, having a unique site that reflects the company’s branding is essential and that using a template would compromise this.

Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Google+ have all been incorporated in the site. Social Media is an important communication channel which is why the buttons are in such a prominent position on each page.

The ability to comment on News items and add Testimonialsare nice features in WordPress and provide an interactive feel to the site.

Lakeland Heritage Trail – Identity

Project included: leaflet

Ullswater ‘Steamers’ and the Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway are two of Lakeland’s most picturesque heritage visitor attractions. Both attractions run on steam power this is something we wanted to feature in the identity. The landscape is also integral so the silhouette of Place Fell, a hill near Ullswater, is contained in the logo. The cog wheel frames the identity and highlights the industrial legacy of the Lake District

South Lakes Cycle Challenge website

South Lakes Cycle Challenge – Website

Project included: website design and development

The Workplace Cycle Challenge is a free, fun competition that encourages people to enjoy cycling. We developed the look and functionality of last year’s site. Previously, miles were emailed to an administrator and these were added weekly. The site is now programmed so users can automatically add their miles using a unique password. The layout and design is really user-friendly so teams can easily register and log their miles.
